Chaperones
All patients have the right to request a chaperone for any consultation, examination or procedure.
A chaperone is a trained member of staff who is present to support you, maintain your dignity and provide reassurance during your consultation.
You may also bring a family member or friend for support; however, they are not considered formal chaperones. If required, a trained member of staff can be arranged.
We recommend that you request a chaperone at the time of booking your appointment so that arrangements can be made and any delay is avoided. If a chaperone is requested at the time of your appointment, we will make every effort to provide one. However, if this is not possible, your appointment may need to be rearranged.
In some circumstances, your healthcare professional may request that a chaperone is present in line with our Chaperone Policy.
If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the team.
